Useful before booking
Questions that shape the brief.
What information do you need to prepare a quote?
Please provide the collection and delivery locations, cargo ready time, latest delivery time, piece count, dimensions, gross weight, packaging and handling requirements. Include site access, booking references and any restricted or sensitive cargo information.
Can you carry dangerous, regulated or restricted goods?
Some specialist cargo may be possible following a shipment-specific review, while other goods may not be accepted. Declare batteries, chemicals, dangerous or controlled goods and provide any relevant classification or safety documents before booking.
What happens if the cargo or timing changes?
Tell us as soon as possible. Changes to weight, dimensions, cargo type, readiness, route or delivery deadline can affect vehicle suitability, price and feasibility, so the plan may need to be reviewed and reconfirmed.
How does a new movement pass from enquiry to operations?
The enquiry is first checked for route, cargo, timing, access and handling information. Open points are clarified before the proposed vehicle and operating plan are confirmed. Dispatch should work from the agreed brief, not from an incomplete initial message.
Which movement updates should I expect?
Useful milestones are agreed for the job, such as plan confirmation, collection status, a planned transit update, delivery status and closure information. A continuous GPS feed, customer portal or system integration is not standard.
Can a return collection be reviewed?
A return can be assessed as a new transport movement. Provide the return authority, current cargo condition, packaging, collection contact and receiving instructions. Acceptance depends on the updated cargo and route review.
